Duane, have you enhanced your VMWare virtual memory under setting,
config editor above the basic 64 MB?  I have similar memory and 1 G
Athlon as you do, and I set my memory to 196 MB, and everything runs at
native speed for me.. without a hitch, no matter what I throw at it. As
for using doze, well that's up to you.. as I have FreeBSD running, as
well as doze in WMWare, all networked in my RH. <g>
