I know there is the glibc issue which requires the patch and the relink against the compat rpm's. However, this patch requires that you install Oracle first, then patch. I cannot get Oracle to install at all. It dies in the link phase. I tried applying the patch to the install staging area and this did not work. Once again, I am trying to install Oracle 8.0.5 on a Red Hat 7.2 system. (I know I should be running 8i or even 9i but are Pro C stuff will not work with 8i yet) Any help is greatly appreciated..
