I need some advice concerning an upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1. The machine I am upgradding
is a dual boot box win98 and rh7.0.

I am trying to boot from the cd (just burned). The boot process from the cd starts up
ok, then hangs at ide2 = 0x1090,..... (a bunch of irq address stuff).

I remembered that this machine has a ultra66 controller card in it, and when I
installed 7.0 I needed to add at the boot prompt:

linux ide2=0x1090

I did that (added linux ide2=0x1090 at the boot prompt). Now the install process goes
a little farther, but hangs (or appears to hang at the line, "checking partitions", or
"looking for partitions", or just "partitions" something like that.

I let it sit there for a few minutes, but nothing appears to be happening.

Do I need to give this process more time, or is this a problem? Any suggestions would
be much appreciated...

Kirk
