I was so proud of myself after compiling my first kernel and (after a few
tries) actually getting it to boot. I have RH 7.0 and wanted to upgrade the
Kernel because I have a dual processor machine. Unfortunately I noticed on
boot that the nic card failes. Before I was using the tulip module for my
Netgear card.

My next course of action was to search on the net for some information to
figure this out and found that NetGear provides some source for a 7.0
driver. Unfortunately I could not get this to compile. It says use kgcc so
I got the latest RPM and it throws a bunch of errors when I try to compile
there source.

Is there a way that I can use this tulip module that came with RedHat and
works fine? Currently:

tulip.c:v0.89H 5/23/98 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
eth0: Digital DS21140 Tulip at 0xf400, 00 40 05 36 b8 86, IRQ 15.
eth0: EEPROM default media type Autosense.
eth0: Index #0 - Media MII (#11) described by a 21140 MII PHY (1) block.
eth0: MII transceiver found at MDIO address 8, config 3100 status 786d.
eth0: Advertising 01e1 on PHY 8, previously advertising 01e1.
eth0: Advertising 01e1 on PHY 0 (8).

Should I try to find+compile this tulip.c from somewhere?

Thanks...
