Hi. I like my terminals to understand the ALT key as Esc. ( That is I want ALT-b to move back a word, ....) and I don't want the screen cleared after I use less/man. Unfortunately for me, in the default redhat configuration, xterm doesn't treat ALT as escape and gnome-terminal clears the screen after less. I've looked and can't find out how to configure either to do what I want. Can anyone help.
