I've now installed the squid-2.3.STABLE1-5 for testing purposes.

I configured it with the config file option

"cache_dir ufs /home/squid/cache 2048 128 2048"

(I didn't know what to put as the last values really, are they ok?)

created the swap directory with /usr/sbin/squid -z and then started squid
with /etc/rc.d/init.d/squid start.

It gives me this output:

Stopping squid: .done
Starting squid: init_cache_dir ufs...

I used to run an older version of squid and didn't get that init_cache stuff
then. It takes a few minutes to do that init, is it normal to take that long?

Regards,

Peter
