Do this to get the most recent version of up2date (anonymous):
up2date --nosig -r up2date
It will get all the packages you need and install the latest up2date. For
anonymous use (no registration) to get all rpms, issue the following
command:
up2date -r -u
Make sure to add the GPG key to check the sigs on the rpms automatically.
If you are using the latest version of the up2date (2.0.7), then it will
tell you how to do this the first time you issue the command without
the --nosig option.

Does it not require money or a registration ? if yes still, then this may
be a problem, otherwise you could apply your beer theory, who knows, on a
Saturday night it may just work Ed ;-).
