Depends. e.g. on how intensively you're using the list, how much
attention you've spent to changing footers, etc.pp. It's not exactly
prominent. A bit like the redhat-announce/redhat-watch list change -
there wasn't even a proper announcement. BTW: The MS way of quoting
(i.e. simply leaving all the quoted messages at the bottom of one's
response) doesn't help things either, as many people will flick on
before even seeing the footer.

That is true, yes. And folks should keep that very first mail with
instructions, no argument there.

I think you might have misunderstood my point. I'm not saying that the
password is wrong. I'm saying that they do not make it prominent enough.
And I'm saying that simply having that link at the bottom of each mail
is NOT enough if it doesn't at least also include the words "to
unsubscribe" somewhere, because I can easily imagine that some people
will *mistake* that footer for advertising otherwise. You know it's not
advertising. I know it's not advertising. But to the untrained eye it's
not necessarily obvious. I'm pretty certain some of the "how do I
unsubscribe" mail could be avoided if the footer was a bit clearer. That
was discussed weeks ago on the list and I've seen several responses
supporting that point of view - the only person who doesn't seem to have
read it, is the listmaster... :-}
