I cannot take credit for this, I received lots of help from number of
people on this list.
Below is from my /etc/printcap file. If you run printtool as root, it is
straightforward.
name -your name for the printer on your computer
spool directory -the directory for the temp files when printing. can be
the same one, but recommend to be different for each
printer
file limit -largest file to print
remote host -ip address or dns name of the printer
remote queue -put in 'raw'
input filter -select your printer, the one I have in my printcap is an
hp4
office:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/office:\
:mx#0:\
:sh:\
:rm=10.1.20.73:\
:rp=raw:\
:if=/var/spool/lpd/minacs/filter:
