Hi all,

I have W2K installed on my system with all partitions NTFS. I first
installed RedHat 7 on an unpartitioned space in order to boot with W2K
booter as described in the NT OS Loader + Linux mini-HOWTO. I have done all
is written down there but after I select Linux in NT boot menu, a blank
screen with a blinking dash prompt in the upper left corner appears and
that's all.
When I installed Linux I just choose my Linux-root-partition and not the MBR
as my boot device but I never used LILO after I installed.
Second time I made only two Linux partition: hda8 is ext2 and hda9 is swap.
When I made bootsect.lnx file I used hda8 in dd command in root:
# dd if=/dev/hda8 of=/bootsect.lnx bs=512 count=1
There is a folder /boot in hda8 with vmlinuz file and others. I must use
other parameters in dd command?
How can I boot Linux without diskette?
I tried to use System Commander 6 to create a little FAT32 partition only
for boot. It asked second boot diskette and after wizard starts I received
"No enough RAM memory to complete task" message. I have 256 Mb RAM. How much
RAM it needs for that operation?

Do you have a solution for this problem ?

Thanks in advance,
mmc
