my latency patch ( unless I missed something in the directions ) seems
to have caused the
kernel to "freeze" upon decompressing..
it seems to decompress okay but then it freezes with the blinking
underline cursor..
any thoughts?
one interesting note though is the hdparm settings i put in rc.local
have definitely allowed MUCH better multi-track recording/playing with
my linux music app ( before I would have one 30mb fine loaded to "play"
then i'd try to record via mic input..well i got horrible
latency/skipping etc.etc. ) ....i'm still getting what I would call
static/white noise? but I think thats because i haven't got the
2.4.0-test9 kernel to boot with the new settings for the kernel
itself........
anyone else notice this kernel freeze issue after having used the
low-latency patch on 2.4.0-test9 or any other kernel for that
matter?......
so if its this good without the kernel's support i imagine it should be
awesome when it is working with the kernel :) ....this is great as I've
eagerly awaited being able to get solid multi-track stuff going on with
linux....one more hurdle overcome on my way to using linux as my default
OS..
