So the two disks are the only IDE devices in that system (no cd drives or
tape drives)? Just making sure.. some people screw it up and pair CD
drives with hard disks (which is a major no-no).. and the faster disk (be
there one), the one with the / partition, should be master.

If you'll never have more than just the two disks in that box, then giving
them seperate interfaces was a good idea.. speeds things up.

Back to your question.. can you do partitioning without rebooting. Yes,
unless you're touching the / partition, in which case, you'll prolly need
a special boot disk.. but if you did that, then you're better off going
back, redoing the install, and do it custom (provided you've aquired
enough know-how to do it yourself)... 15MB for /boot is bloated.

Eh.. I'm about to fall asleep so I'll let the others give you the
low-down.
