I have a new RH 7.0 install..GNOME. I am using a PCI Matrox Mystique 220 with
4 MB RAM and a IIyama 9017E/T monitor. Both are these were correctly
identified by RH install. After I installed I used Xconfigurator to change
resolutions to 800X600 24 bit color. I wanted my display bigger while I set up
font choices, Netscape and desktop preferences. Now I want to go back to
1024X768 but I can't. I run Xconfiguator and it says everything is written
successfully but it doesn't change. I have tried this multiple times both in
console before loading X and from a console window while in X.
I have removed /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86config file so that Xconfigurator can
rewrite it but this approach didn't work. I had this happen to me once before
and the only way I could resolve it was to reinstall. Does anybody know a
solution ?
