Questions regarding dhcpd
First: I now understand how to get the dynamically
assigned IP address. sigh!
Now regarding the functionality of dhcpd. Does dhcpd run
everytime the connection to the ISP is established? If so
could I include in the file a command to run the rc.firewall
file (once I figure out how not to lock up the machine) so
that the new IPADDR will be read from the output of
ifconfig? (Don't worry about the last part, it's the first
part that I don't quite get)
Third: I have looked through multiple books on Linux, RH
in particular, and find very little documentation about the
functions of the files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts.
MAN pages say little. Where can I get good info that
explains the sequence of events and execution of these
scripts?

As always, TIA
