environment

[Ted Gervais]

I want to change my 'env' settings and don't know how to do this.
I am running Redhat7.0 .  I also thought I could change my environment
settings
in the /etc/profile file??  Not so..  

Any thoughts?   In particular I want to change the setting for:

BOOT_IMAGE=linux  ,  to something else..
