What is your eth0 device? Did you compile it into the kernel? Did you make
it a module? If you did make it a module, be sure you did a "make modules"
and a "make modules_install" after compiling the kernel or the modules will
not be there!

Subject: Eth0 device not found after rebuild of kernel
Hi,
I've manage to recompile the kernel 2.2.16 ok, but my eth0 no longer works
I suspect it's something to do with me not loading a network module or
sumthing
can someone tell me what module I'll need for my card to be detected?
I did a 'ifconfig eth0' and came back at me saying,
eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found
so can someone tell me how to get my kernel to "find it" ?
my other image (kernel 2.2.14) works fine...
