Are the modules being loaded? (Presuming you're running the stock
RH-6.2 highly modularised kernel.) If not, you'll have to load them by
hand and IIRC, ppa depends on other modules before it itself can be
loaded -- parport_pc and parport (I think.) I've never used PLIP,
but again, ensure the plip module is being loaded. (man insmod
and lsmod for more in-depth help.)
