These files are in RPM v.4 format. Apparently, 3.05 groks version 4, so you
can try upgrading to that version of RPM.

If you want to shortcut the RPM upgrade, at the expense of some convenience
when you next upgrade, get the binaries for XFree86 4.0.1 from
mirror.aarnet.edu.au or mirror.qsi.net.nz (I seem to remember they have the
latest XF86 binaries too).
