It's not just exceptions -- some PCI cards aren't complaint with the bit of
the PCI standard for IRQ sharing.  And, I've *never* encountered a
manufacturer that will admit that their product will share an IRQ.  The
first t/s step they recommend is giving it its own IRQ.
