Ok. I've located the source of my sound problem -- it appears to be
XMMS. For some strange reason, all I get from Xmms is static. I've
tried reinstalling XMMS from the latest sources, even compiled it
myself from the tarball and no change! :-(
Anyone got any suggestions? I've got an ESS ES1868 AudioDrive (rev
11) (3.01) for my sound card. I'm running RedHat 6.2 stock. No
upgrades, no special sound stuff....
