Never tried it, but try running 'xterm -display :1'
If that works, try running 'wmaker -display :1' or whatever your
favorite window manager is.  At least both screens will be productive.
I have no idea how to make a single window manager aware of multiple X
servers (except you can cheat a bit with x2x).  Usually in multihead
situations the one X server controls both heads.

Don't ask me how keyboard focus, etc works. :^)
