I read the documentation backwards - read the installation instructions
before reading the 2 Cisco books they sent. It does allow for both telnet
and web access, so it appears I can do what I need without installing the
software. One nice point; I found out I don't have to run the software
off the same computer I install the card on. I can try programming the
router via telnet. If that doesn't work I can install the software on one
of the WinDumb boxes and program it from there.

Don't know what PPPoE is; didn't see "PPPoE" mentioned in any of the vast
documentation they sent me. I will be logged on through PPP if that's in
the ballpark.

I'm set up to run this with my Linux box as a gateway using IP
masquerading. I found out in reading the Cisco manual that the Cisco 675
is capable of doing this also; it can be programmed to forward packets for
individual computers on the LAN based on LAN IP addresses:
 _____
| | 192.168.0.1
| PC1 | ------------
|_____| |
                    |
 _____ | _______ ___________
| | 192.168.0.2 ----| | | 10.0.0.1 |
| PC2 | -----------------|  HUB  | -------| Cisco 675 | -----> Internet
|_____| ----|_______| |___________|
                    |
 _____ |
| | 192.168.0.3 |
| PC3 | ------------
|_____|

With the above setup you can program the router to run standalone, and
telnet in if you need to change its configuration - it isn't directly
dependent on any of the computers in the LAN.
