Is there ANYONE out there whose been successful with running RH6.2 (out of the box w/percraid patch)on a Dell PowerEdge 2450? What I'm working with: Dell PowerEdge 2450/733 (single processor) 256MB memory 1 Embedded Intel Ethernet Expess Ethernet Adapter (eepro100) 3 - 3Com 3c509 single port ethernet adapters (PCI). Embedded ATI graphics controller Embedded raid controller (see above). Bio version A03. The Nic selection is the latest permutation. The symptoms are: 1 card/port gets activated; all others fail. In this case, not even the embedded ethernet card/port is activated. The "non-working" cards/ports are recognized by RH6.2 but do not seem to want to work. Another time, I used 3 single port adapters (Intel Ethernet Express Pro 100+)- same result except that the 2 of the pci cards work (not including the embedded port of the "same" model). And then there was the configuration of using 2 dual port Intel Ethernet Express Pro 100+ PCI cards (disabling the embedded port). In this case, ONE port on each card was active (operational/alive) whereas the other port on each card failed consistently. I've run ALL the diags I could think of. I have even (at Dell's suggestion) flashed back to the previous version of the BIOS - A02. That did not help either. The symptom in all cases: The card that fails, fails to communicate with the DHCP server. The process times out/fails (unable to get ip configuration...). Any thoughts would be MUCH appreciated.
