Hi all, Just ordered a new box. PIII 750, 256 MB, 27GB IDE and an adaptec SCSI-2 2940UW adapter. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive tapedrive that is known to work with this card? I need a capacacity of at least 4GB. If I understand correctly the support modules for the card can be loaded at system start or compiled directly into the kernel. The same applies to other hardware like netcards, right? If I have a hardware config that works fine and is not going to change on a production internetserver* is there any reason not to customize the kernel? * low traffic webserver with 10-20 namebased virtual domains, ~10 pop accounts per domain.
