2.0 was supposed to fix a caching problem.  Are you using pre-2.0?  If so, 
go to samba.org and poke around their support docs and you will see you 
exact problem.  You have to delete some files used to cache and then 
restart Samba.

Otherwise.... I don't know why it's not working although the Samba docs 
might help.  Windows networking confuses me.  Often after I make a change, 
I have to go into Windows explorer, select find computer, and search for 
the computer.  You might try that.
