STRANGE! A mysterious, new desktop icon!

A strange thing has happened.  A new icon has appeared on my desktop.
Labeled hda1, by double click it mounts my windows partition.

I did not put it there.  I believe it arrived when I reset my session
management.  I've also last week upgraded to 6.2.  I think that I had
an icon to mount my CD in place of the new one, but I'm not certain.

Does anyone understand this?
