Hi there, I would like to add my voice to that ever-increasing chorus of newbies with "I'm just trying my first install". I require that it been done over the LAN (NFS, FTP, HTTP, doesn't matter) due to their being no CD-ROM. I used rawrite to create a floppy of bootnet.img. I get to the point where the install wants to detect my card and autoprobe doesn't find the NIC. I tried to manually configure my settings for the Etherworks 3 ISA card that is installed. When asked for the module parameters I put in those of the card, namely: irq=10 io=0x300 (checked this with DEC's NICTEST.EXE). I get a message on VC1 (Virtual Console 1) saying:"I can't find the device anywhere on your system." VC3 shows: *running /bin/insmod /bin/insmod /modules/ewrk3.o irq=10 io=0x300 *insmod failed! On VC5: Cannot find archive member ewrk3.o: file does not exist in archive. I found the source for this module ewrk3.c on the web, but can't compile it because this is my first install (catch 22). Even if I could compile it, I'm a little unsure on how to make a boot image for Red Hat's install program. Is there an easier way to do this? I would like to avoid using the FAT partition that is currently on the HD for running the install. I want to make it all ext2. Does anyone have an ewrk3.o module for a P75 that they can send? If so, how do I put it into /modules (which does not show up on the disk, I suspect it is on the RAMdisk that is created on startup)? Finally, assuming that I get all that working, do I set Plug'n'Play O/S to True of False in the BIOS settings? ------------------------------------- Robby Tanner B.E., B.Sc.
