Hiya,

I'm running 6.1 on a DEC Alpha Multia and I was wondering how to compile
a non-compressed kernel.

What I do now is :

make mrproper menuconfig dep clean vmlinux modules modules_install

When that's finished, the only kernel I can find is 'vmlinux' in
/usr/src/linux (shouldn't it be in usr/src/linux/arch/alpha/boot/ ?)

Also, this kernel is compressed, when I boot using the newly made kernel
I get the messages, "UNZIP : Is not a zip file" followed by lots of
lines of # marks (whch I assume is the kernel being uncompressed).

Think I read somewhere that Alpha kernels don't have to be compressed,
something to do with not using lilo? How'd I compile a non-compressed
kernel (sorry if this isn't the correct technical term :)

Thanks in advance,

JOON
