Max Ram, again..

Sorry, for the repost i can't find and don't remember the correct answer.

Under RH 6 or better, what is the maximum amount of ram supported?  I 
have a need for 1 gig of ram, about a year ago or so, maybe @ RH 5, I 
remember the max RAM being limited to 256K.

Can someone clarify this for me?
