This is eminently doable; I'm currently running 4 different OS's
(multiple linux + the unmentionable 8^) ) and using a boot manager
as you intend to do. Incidently; the main gotcha in there is that
you'll need to install lilo, when you get to that point, to the
root partition, _NOT_ to the MBR of anything.

Your note reads as if you're trying to install to a new disk drive,
is that correct? You also don't mention what tool you used to do the
initial partitioning of the drive, and that can make a difference.

Additionally, I'm going to suggest you use a somewhat different
partitioning scheme with this, it may reduce problems. I'd recommend
the following steps:

1. Use Win98 FDISK (or the old DOS FDISK, if you have access) and
clear all partitions on the drive.

2. Create and format a single partition on the drive, again from
win98. This sometimes helps with what appear to be geometry recog-
nition problems. Usually unnecessary, but... Write down what win98
thinks the drive structure is (CHS).

3. Now boot your RedHat CDROM and choose expert mode. This will let
you use Linux fdisk instead of Disk Druid. Disk Druid will sometimes
not work as expected with less common drive configurations. Isn't my
favorite, anyhow; less flexible, less information, etc.

4. When you get to the drive partitioning & have gone into fdisk,
first check the CHS data fdisk sees for the drive. Delete the partition
you created on the drive. Then I'd suggest you create the following
partitions:

Partition Size Mount point
/dev/hdX1 16Mb /boot
/dev/hdx2 2650Mb /
/dev/hdx3 extended partition
/dev/hdx5 350Mb /home
/dev/hdx6 64Mb swap

Leave the rest of the space unpartitioned for now. You can use it as
necessary later.

5. Complete the installation normally from there. You shouldn't have
further problems with partition definitions, etc. from that point.

Let me know if I can be of any help along the way.
