You are correct, sir!  Probably a part of the reason that I didn't 
consider that option is the fact that, overall, I'm less than impressed
with disk druid to date.  It's been getting better, true, and many of
the significant bugs are gone.  I guess my problem with it is the 
relative inflexibility of it, and the fact that I too often end up 
trying to work my way around it.
