The proc man page says that file-nr indicates the number of files that
are open. But, the file has three numbers.
The first was 2957, but has since gone to 4263. What does the first number
indicate?
The second does appear to be the number of files open, but it has grown
extremely large for no known reason. I have a lot of people doing ftps,
but when I shut down the service, and the number of ftps drops, the number
of open files does not.
The last number is the value I assigned to file-max.
