It defaults to looking up home.netscape.com.  Easiest soln I can think
o is to add the hosts it looks for to your hosts file, and just have a
routine that:
at link up, copy the hosts file without netscape hosts in it to the
master hosts file

at link down, copy the hosts file with netscape hosts in it to the
master hosts file.

You could point the netscape addresses anywhere, and netscape should
be happy.
