Jeff,
Don't lose faith in the Linux and VMWare products over these issues.
I have encountered my share if probs and always found fixes either
quickly or in a short peroid of time when one "gets back to it"......
I run RHL 6.0 and VMWare 1.03 in which I run Windoze98. All
works very well. This is on a Celeron 500 box (I'd recommend
a Pentium III though). You have to master their instructions and
email them if need be, but it does work, and very well.
