You're not by any chance running Window Maker 0.61.0? 0.61.0 had a bug
that would cause it to crash in that exact situation. In that case, I'd
recommend to upgrade to 0.61.1, which has been out for a while. You can
find the tarball at http://www.windowmaker.org or the RPMs e.g. in Red
Hat's contrib (probably a bit more up-to-date) or at
http://www.woodsoup.org/~emgaron/tuxior-windowmaker.html
