okay. i am stumped on this one. my token ring card
is not working and it was before. i know, what
changed. well, a lot. i basically pulled my hard
disk from one machine and plugged in another. now, i
am using the same kind of comupter except one thing,
the processor went from 100mhz to 75mhz(same kind of
nic too). shouldn't affect right?
well, i do have "alias tr0 ibmtr" in conf.modules.
when i look at pci file in /proc it shows that it
found a token ring card on 0x4000 on irq 15. now,
when i try to add those settings in control-panel, it
won't stick. i get a python "keyerror keep:". now, i
can't remember if i had to specify my irq and io last
time. i don't think i did. also, when i look at
/proc/interrupts i do not see my card. nothing on irq
15.
my dmesg says "ibmtr: no apdapters were found". is
this a bad card?
here is my /etc/network file-
DEVICE=tr0
USERCTL=no
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=none
BROADCAST=xxx.10.255.255
NETWORK=xxx.10.0.0
NETMASK=255.255.0.0
IPADDR=xxx.10.235.220
and my /etc/network-scripts/ifcfg-tr0 file-
NETWORKING=yes
FORWARD_IPV4=no
HOSTNAME=pretzel
DOMAINNAME=mydomain.com
GATEWAY=xxx.10.235.1
GATEWAYDEV=tr0
i know, too much information. any help would be
great.
