I have loaded 8i from Oracle's free download and created the environment.
The test DB was created and tested OK. (which implied that 4 and 5
worked). Additionally I have loaded DBI abd DBD-Oracle and am preforming
thousaned of transactions through cron-scheduled jobs regularly, not inly
to the local database but also to remote O8i databases on NT machines.
It all went seamlessly once I upgraded to RH 6.1. Under 6.0 I fought with
it for 2 weeks to no avail.
Hope it helps,
Warren
