Help - Installing Linux?

Hello,

How do I install Linux on an existing Win98 system? The manual says that I
must install it into the first 1024 cylinders. Win98 is currently there. How
can I move Win98 and make room for Linux.

I tried just installing the default, but linux will not boot.
