Hello everyone!
I just recieved my PenguinComputing box and it has been preloaded with
RedHat 6.1 on it. I work a lot on NT during the day so I use Exceed to also
work on my Linux Box. Here's the problem:
I have 2 linux boxes ( vulcan, kronos ). Vulcan is running RedHat 6.0 and
XDM. I am able to see vulcan via XDMCP Broadcast through Exceed.
Kronos is the box I just recieved, preloaded with RedHat 6.1 and is also
running XDM, however, I cannot see it via XDMCP Broadcast. I did look at
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xaccess and uncommented out the lines that allow any
host a chooser and any host a login. I can see Kronos now, although,
instead of being "willing to manage" it's just "available (load 0.0)". I
try to login to Kronos, but am not getting a login screen. So, I ran
XDM -debug 1 and captured the what was going on. below is a piece of that
capture:
-------------------------------------------
Before XOpenDisplay(parmleys:0)
After XSetIOErrorHandler
_X11TransSocketINETConnect: Can't get address for parmleys
After XOpenDisplay(parmleys:0)
XOpenDisplay(parmleys:0) returned 0x0
After XOpenDisplay(parmleys:0)
OpenDisplay failed 22 (Invalid argument) on "parmleys:0"
waiting for server to start 0
-------------------------------------------
"parmleys" is the name of my NT machine. I'm not sure what I'm missing here.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Scott Parmley
