I have a "Aztech sound galaxy washington 16" sound card. Its
documentation claims to support Adlib, SoundBlaster Pro, and
Microsoft Windows Sound System. I am using kernel 2.2.5-15 in a RH
6.0 distribution. My goal is to play MP3. I am trying to use xmms.
when I plan mp3 with xmms it produces noise.
My system is a P60 with 64 megs of ram.

I have followed the instructions in the sound howto.
Here are some outputs:
cat /dev/sndstat
OSS/Free:3.8s2++-971130

SB 3.01 detected OK (220)
SB DSP version is just 3.01 which means that your card is
several years old (8 bit only device) or alternatively the sound driver
                  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
is incorrectly configured.

My question is how do I configure the sound driver? The documentation
says it is a
16bit card.

output from linux-conf shows
the following are column headings
"type module arguments"

sound sb
sgalaxy blank many arguments

per the sound how to
cat endoftheworld >/dev/dsp works

Help would be apprectiate.
