Hi all,
I am currently running Redhat Linux 5.2 and have installed a network card.
The card in question is a 3com 3c59x variant. Installation was successful
but I am now experiencing problems pinging devices on the internetwork. I
can ping both the localhost and the ip address of the card itself. I have
setup the routing table with a default gateway and entered a couple of
network entries together with their respective subnet masks.
When i issue the ping command to ping the local gateway the ping command
just sit and does nothing. I have used TCPDUMP to monitor the outbound
traffic from the network card. IFCONFIG also shows and TX increment count as
the ping packets are transmitted. ad in the machine that I am running it
on?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
