I am having trouble with the RHS print filters for printing dvi's. The
filter appears to work correctly, but the printer output contains no
figures. I have verified the operation of the individual filters, and
of the constructed filter train.
The explanation I have is that, since dvi-to-ps.fpi cat's the dvi file
into a tmp directory before calling dvips on it (since the input must be
seekeable -- i.e. *not* a pipe), it doesn't know where to find any
included postscript figures. The way this can be fixed is to define the
TEXPICTS environment variable in the dvi-to-ps filter, which specifies a
path for searching for included figures/etc. However, I don't know a
way to find out in a generic way the correct directory (the directory
from which the dvi file was printed). Any ideas?
Thanks,
JD
