David Mosberger:
A few weeks ago, I downloaded the latest version of SANE-0.65 from your
ftp://ftp.azstarnet.com/pub/linux/axp/sane/
web sight, for use with a Hewlett Packard 4c flatbed scanner and a Connectix
QuickCAM Color Camera. These two devices are connected to an Intel Pentium
100 MHz computer with 64 Megs of RAM, 2.1 Gigs Wide SCSI hard disk, QLogic IQ
PCI SCSI ISP1020 Wide SCSI host adapter, ATI Graphics Pro Turbo 4 Meg VRAM PCI
(Mach 64) Graphics Accelerator, a Realtek 8029 PCI ethernet combo 10Base2 LAN
card, configured for I/O address 0x6000 and IRQ 9. There are two bidirectional
parallel ports installed in this system, configured for I/O address 0x3BC IRQ7
and 0x378 IRQ11. I am running RedHat Linux 5.0 with kernel 2.0.32 and the
following RPM packages:
gcc-2.7.2.3-8
gcc-c++-2.7.2.3-8
gcc-objc-2.7.2.3-8
glibc-2.0.7-6
glibc-debug-2.0.7-6
glibc-devel-2.0.7-6
glibc-profile-2.0.7-6
kernel-2.0.32-2
kernel-headers-2.0.32-2
kernel-modules-2.0.32-2
kernel-source-2.0.32-2
libelf-0.6.4-1
libg++-2.7.2.8-6
libg++-devel-2.7.2.8-6
libgr-2.0.13-4
libgr-devel-2.0.13-4
libgr-progs-2.0.13-4
I am able to do a ./configure and a make in it's source code root directory
but not make install. The following is what is displayed when I execute make
install:
# make install

target=`echo install-recursive | sed s/-recursive//`; \
echo making $target in $subdir; \

Where should I add LIBDIR in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable? I have
tried adding the $LIBDIR to every LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable that I
could find in the sane source code directories without success. Have you any
suggestions that I can try?
Any tips or suggestions will be very appreciated.
Thank you,
David Smith
