  I have PM ver. 3. I used it to get my system ready for linux (and to
recover the MBR when an install went bad). It can see a linux partition,
but not resize it. Interestingly enough, I could also shrink the dos or
win95 partitions but couldn't make the linux ones any larger.

  Now, what about fips? Is that just for reducing dos/win partitions so
there's room for linux?

  The tried-and-true repartitioning method is to make two verified backups
of everything then use the linux and/or dos fdisk program to make things
just the way you want. Then restore from the tapes. Slow but sure.  <g>
