I recently installed a tape drive connected to the floppy cable. I
have been working on it for awhile and have been unable to get it to
work/do anything (after reading through all of the ftape howtos and
whatnot). It is a TR-3 Exabyte ort something like that.

The most baffling thing about this situation is that for some reason
my printer will not work anymore. What I try to print I get the
following message:
        [resar@kluski resar]$ ls|lpr -Pcanon
        lpr: connect: Connection refused
jobs queued, but cannot start daemon.
but lpd is running
        [resar@kluski resar]$ ps ax|grep lpd
          441 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/lpd
          442 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/lpd
also.. I keep getting the following message in my system log
        Apr 25 15:38:30 kluski modprobe: can't locate module char-major-6
I get this message whether parallel printing is compiled into the
kernel or just as modules, and I assume this messages has something
to do with my problem since it was working fine before.

Do anyone know what I did to my system, or what could be done to fix
it (either my printer, or why the tape drive never seems to do
anything)?
