I got the dreaded, infamous message today: "You are trying to install on a machine that isn't supported by this version of Red Hat Linux." This was while doing an install of Red Hat 9 on a Dell 1750. Works fine on 1650s and 2650s, so who could've predicted?!

The most exasperating thing about this is that there is no explanation of why. The hardware in a 1750 isn't particularly different from a 2650, so it's beyond me why the installer would perceive a difference.

My questions to anyone who might know anything:

- is there any way to force the install to continue?
- is there some kind of hack I could do as a workaround?

TIA

Steve
