revisiting your error log, it seems that oracle has tried to expand its own version of JRE and had problem of doing so. that's basically one point where it failed to initialize its own JVM. i suppose that you're trying to install it as "root" so that the process would have all the rights (read/write/execute) and all the oracle part of providing environment variables must be put in /etc/profile to make them visible globally rather than putting them in .bash_profile. cheers! -- EDUARDO A.
