Never said you did. But you're obviously suffering from an inability to compile ACPI support into the kernel. In fact, I believe you referred to yourself as "an idiot when it comes to compiling the kernel". I take that to mean that you're not comfortable compiling a kernel. If you can't follow explicit instructions as listed in one of the links I attached, then you're either going to have someone do it for you, or you're out of luck... 25 years' experience or not. > I believe WHOLEHEARTEDLY that Linux is a superior operating system, and > use it exclusively in my home network. I went out of my way to a) Google your issue, and b) verify that each of the 4 links c) worked, and d) contained relevant information to your issue. I suggest you avoid being so defensive in a forum where folks are volunteering their time to help others. <rant> I can sympathize that we (US citizens) are living in an age where political correctness constantly snaps at our heels, but it really doesn't have a place here. Try to look past the [dry] wit and accept the charity. You have no idea how under-appreciated many of us feel in here when recipients of our (good) advice neglect to a) thank us, or b) simply tell us things _worked_. </rant> -- Jason Dixon, RHCE DixonGroup Consulting http://www.dixongroup.net -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
