I'm thinking of upgrading the gcc-2.7.2.1-2 package on some RH4.2 systems to
the gcc-2.7.2.3-8 package in the RH5.0 distribution. One of my primary
concerns is that, in upgrading the libc and binutils packages (5.3.12-18 and
2.7.0.2-4 on 4.2, respectively), I'll break other packages that depend libc
and binutils. I'm checking through the dependencies now, but I thought I'd
ask if anyone has tried this, and how'd it work? Thanks.
