The make command you mentioned has nothing to do with recreating the sendmail.cf file, which is this command:
After looking throught the sendmail docs I realised this is true. However I tried it anyways simply cause it said so in the file and hoped it might help.
I'm really surpised redhat doesn't have a how to guild on turing on the abilty to recive mail from outside servers.
